Ramble

Ramble is funny, lovable, smart boy. He is a 1 year/19lb/Terrier Mix. He’s big enough to be durable, and he’s still small enough to fit just about anywhere.

This dog is a sweetheart who absolutely loves affection. Ramble fell in love with my 10 year old daughter almost immediately. The feeling was mutual. My daughter says he’s her favorite foster so far (and I’ve had 9 others during the past year). Ramble has been wonderful with her.

He can actually be quite the ham when he wants attention, and he’s got a flair for the dramatic (in the best possible way). He loves playing with his toys and will toss them in the air and fling them across the room on his own. He’s a huge clown.

Because Ramble is a young, playful dog, he will sometimes grab something he shouldn’t have - like a discarded paper towel, or a ziplock bag, sock, etc. - and proceed to play “keep away” while the humans try to take it from him. And he’s totally laughing at the humans the entire time they’re chasing him. But he hasn’t tried to destroy any of the things he’s put in his mouth.

Ramble is good in his crate, and he’s been good about going outside to potty. If not taken out fairly quickly after being let out of his crate in the morning, he will lift his leg in the house, but he hasn’t actually peed on anything yet. So far, a verbal correction has been enough to prevent any accidents.

He has been fully vetted. He tested very light positive for heartworms, so we opted for the slow-kill method. He was given a ProHeart injection and will be heartworm negative by the time he needs his next ProHeart.

Hail Mary Rescue, a 501c3 non profit, saves dogs from southeast Louisiana shelters.  It is a foster-based rescue which gives pets the opportunity to live in home settings where they are house and crate trained, learn basic obedience commands, and are well socialized, many with children and other dogs. Exposure to cats depends on the foster's home. Adoption fee is $200 for LA adoptions; $400 (includes transportation fee for out-of-state adoptions). All dogs are completely vetted, vaccinated, spay/neutered, and micro-chipped prior to adoption. See your new best friend?
